I’ve been in the market for new mittens this season but could not decide what to buy. My budget was $150 or less. I wanted good mittens that would keep my hands warm during ski and snowplow season.
As I scoured the shelves of Ski Barn, Snowcreek and the MAC at Snowshoe, nothing really jumped out to me. My wife suggested Amazon so I hopped online and began the hunt. After countless searches, I stumbled upon these Savior heated mittens. They are made in China so I was leary at first. The mittens had over 200 reviews with a 4.4 average rating. I decided to take a chance since Amazon has a very forgiving return policy.
They arrived 2 days after I ordered them via our Prime membership. They were packed in a high-quality box with easy-to-follow instructions. The initial charging was quick, just a few hours. I “test drove” them around the house switching between high, low and medium heat settings. One could really feel the heat.
For a true test, I wore them to snowplow my driveway. I use a Polaris Ranger to plow my drive. It has an open cab so when it’s cold, it’s cold. I set them on high and my hands were sweating when done. The next test was a ski trip to Snowshoe in early February. To extend the battery life, I set the temp to low. They lasted all day and kept my fingers comfortable.
I’ve owned these mittens a little over a month now and have used them several more times to plow and shovel. My overall impression is that they seem to do what they are intended to do – keep your hands warm.
Rating 4.5 out of 5
Pros: Warm mittens with multiple heat settings
Cons: No strap to secure around the wrist
